Default Anyone got 'What Videocamera'?

Hi guys and merry xmas.

I need to buy a video/dv camera and was wondering if anyone could tell me the best buys from a Which, What kind of magazine. My requirements are

1) Less than £350

2) Mini DV

3) Good picture quality, inc low light, and picture stability

4) Not fussed about fancy editing stuff

Many thanks

Deep

Make sure you get a MiniDV not DVD / hard drive as they can often be blocky, Sony do minidv one that is highly rated for around £220 and to be honest I dont think its worth spending more.

Yes, I read that the HDD did not give as good a picture quality as mini DV. I'm more concerned with picture quality than conveniance. Don't suppose you have the model ref for the Sony?

Deep, if I was in the market to buy now, this is the one I would choose. Tape-based and (almost) high-definition - an EISA 06/07 award winner too. Costs double your budget , but then quality usually doesn't come cheap. I bought the first Sony handycam (PC1)for over a grand back in 1999 and it's still good enough to use today. i.e. smaller and better built than the budget models out there.

Hi Suresh, over the next 6 months I have to replace 3 tvs, a hi fi and buy a dining table and sofas. So I'm afraid the budget is set at £350
