Thumbs up Hamid stripped of MBE

BBC NEWS | England | South Yorkshire | Ex-champ Hamed stripped of honour

Nice to see the scum has had his MBE taken off him. Ok Im sure he couldnt care less, but I wouldnt want him to be associated with people who have actually done some good.

Scumbag only served 15weeks of a 16month jail sentance for almost killing someone in a car accident he caused

I can only hope his victim is sueing the hell out of Hamed.

Just a thought and a genuine question. In light of the above why has Geoffrey Archer never been stripped of his knighthood?

Cos Archer is one of the 'old boys', and therfore he gets treated somewhat differently to the paki chav boxer....

Exactly. Its cos Nas is a Paki boxer not a white upper class toff.
Same old argument, upper class people wreck a restaurant and its "high Jinks". Football fans do it and they are mindless vandals probably brought up on a council estate by single parents.

prince charles is a white upper class toff. jeffrey archer is white lower-middle class chancer and well-connected convicted criminal. if you're going to stereotype, then please be accurate.

WTF are you on. I was merely showing that the circumstances involved were totally different in each case.

Who mentioned knighting him.I certainly didn't.

WTF am I on? Yes they are totally different.

One was an idiot who made a stupid split second error of judgement and then tried to cover his tracks whereas the other was a conniving, scheming, greedy, fame seeking politician who through his contacts evaded prosecution on several counts for many years before finally getting his comeuppance.

Why therefore should one have their honour removed and the other not? I suspect you already know the answer and probably support it.

No my point is Chip that if both have broken the law and been sent to spend some considerable time at her Majesty's pleasure then both should have their honours stripped from them or neither should. It is obviously (well obvious to most) unfair to treat them any differently. Archer didn't exactly get sent down for stealing a loaf of bread did he now?

Of course one being a white connected politician whereas the other being a black ex-boxer has nothing to do with it as we are lucky to live in a classless society

As far as i know Jeffrey Archer is a Lord. He's never had any other award. They did consider repealing it but it would have meant an act of parliament. Hameds can just be withdrawn by the crown.

Since when has this government let an Act of Parliament get in its way and you would think the chance to humble a one time leading Tory politician would be almost overwhelming

You can't actually believe they've missed this one when you start to think about it though can you? Maybe we should give them a nudge

If you are going to highlight their differences, you should at least try to be accurate

Hamed is a nasty, vicious little **** who, with his 'posse', swaggered around Sheffield like he owned the place, was generally acknowledged to be an accident looking for somewhere to happen, and still drives like a tw@t, even after nearly killing somebody with his arrogant, reckless stupidity

Your summation of Archer, I would say is pretty much on the mark Except you omitted the habitual lying about his past, and the criminally awful novels

I don't know him. But I do know of him, from working in and around Sheffield with people who have to put up with the behaviour of him and his racist scum entourage

I doubt they enjoy the same immunity from 'police harrassment' as they used to though, not since his 'error of judgement'

It's not a racist thing.

Robert Mugabe still has an honoury knighthood (as far as I know) - and he's a black **** too.

When I'm in power, I propose to; bring back the death penalty. People like Mr Hamed will complete their FULL sentence. I believe if you take a life, you pay with your life.

Actually, Lord Brocket didn't break the law, he was convicted of conspiring to break it.

From what I remember, he dismantled, and buried in his grounds, several old Ferraris, including a 250GT SWB with the intention of claiming to the insurance companies that they had been stolen.
IIRC, he had a change of heart and didn't go through with it, the whole thing only coming to light because his wife made a statement to the police during their very bitter divorce proceedings

Don't think he's actually killed anyone yet - he's a bit like a pit bull in a nursery - just a question of when !
