Default Are there any fee free cash back credit cards?

I have a credit card for purchase protection and cash back, clearing the balance each month. Used to get over 1%, now found out it is only 0.25% on Halifax. American Express have an "up to 3%" that after a few months with typical spending works out about 1%. Anything better?

I have a Nationwide Gold credit card which is fee free and is cash back, no idea of the % though. I used it for buying stuff on the net and then immediately settle it from my bank.

Amex isn't as widely accepted as you might hope. Try a Morgan Stanley platinum MasterCard as an alternative and/or backup.

Egg money card 1%

If you go online it even gives a summary of what you've been spending on in that month :-

Fuel
High Streets
Supermarkets
Holidays
****
Hookers
Drugs...

I transferred from Egg to Halifax when Egg dropped their cashback rate previously. I need to be more of a tart with these things.

I got some punter trying to "sell" me cash back credit cards - when I told him I has a MS Card he said - that's the best on the market and gave up !

I have the Amex platinum card and most places take it, though not everywhere. Anything I can buy with that I do.

Morgan Stanley platinum mastercard is 3% back until May and then 1% thereafter. This could work out better anyway unless you spend over £13,500p.a. on the Amex.

Gary.
