I bet!

IS really annoying now though that you can't utter a thing without it being taken the wrong way or have the racist/homophobic whatever card thrown at you

Poor show when Britain cares more for the immigrants than the British Especially those who keep breaking the law and STILL don't get deported!

Laws need to be tightened and and we need to stop being so flipping PC for fear of offending someone!

DK1 I agree with your last post, but I do get heartily sick of seeing "time to get out" repeated ad nauseum on threads like this , but no action taken.
If the rats are going to abandon the sinking ship then , please GO.
Leave the rest of us LOYAL British citizens to pick up the pieces and restore law and order. Because as far as history shows, it will come around one day and we will return to a better place. It will take time though.

LOVED the bit about "amerika bad, europe good" LOL

Is THAT why Blair has been following Bush around for years with his nose stuck up Bush's *rse? And why the so-called "special realtionship" only works in the pro-America direction? And why we only finished paying our war debt to the USA last year?

Alcazar,

That's because the USA made us pay top-dollar under lend-lease for every piece of equipment we bought. Roosvelt's objective was to replace the British Empire with the USA as a dominant global force. In hindsight he did a damned good job!

I agree with Apparition. This always was an outstanding country and there is no reason why it cannot be like that again. The important thing is not to let them grind us down and I also reckon that it will all go full circle again despite the nefarious actions taking place to try to ensure re-election.

There seems to be a sudden increase in the number of trolls HG!

Stop moaning.

Most here seem well off, have decent cars and houses and aren't critically ill.

We spent some time travelling Oz and NZ, surfing and hiking all over the place - All very nice but we were desperate to get home by the end of it.

The UK rocks.

I disagree, I think it's on a downward slope and can never really get any better. And while other countries like Canada/Aus/NZ may appeal now they aren't far behind the UK in travelling down the same path.

hey, not moaning - just pointing out how most everything around us today is now framed by media and government within politically correct, left of centre parameters that brook little or no dissent.

for example, if you're unhappy with the EU, you get branded a little englander. if you're uncomfortable with the tokenism of lesbian and gay adoption, you're a homophobe. if you're pro-US, you're a neo-con. if you're pro-israel, you're a babykiller. if you're pro-hunting, you're a posh tw@t. if you're disappointed about illegal immigration, you're a racist. if you're irritated by the waste of 'fat government', you're a heartless, tax-slashing tory. if you're critical of elements of islam, you're a religious bigot. if you're anti-ID cards, you're soft on crime. if you want to see criminals punished quickly and properly, you're an illiberal dinosaur. if you're irked by sloppy human rights legislation, you're a fascist. the list goes on ...

when you're old enough to remember when standards, etiquette, integrity and common sense stood for something, then today's ideological rigidity - and the infantile, intolerant rejection of life's natural subtleties by those who should know better - is maddening.

You're 31, that means you were born in 1976, yes? You'll not remember MUCH of the 70's, if anything at all
