I want one for a small room with my pc in.(8ft square)

I'd rather just heat the rooms i'm in than the whole house which is what central heating does. I thought oil filled heaters were the most efficient portable heaters?

Well they are, as far as portable heaters go but due to the fact they use on peak elecriticity to run them they are not as efficient as using your central heating, if you have TRV's on your rads you could always turn down the rads you dont want to use and just heat your room?

It's surprising how much some things cost to run that you don't realise!

Phone chargers plugged in when you're not using them

I have a habit of jujst leaving things plugged in. I never realised that it still used electric even though you're not using them.

Bit crazy in some respects.....

I never really used to bother about what eletric I was using until the recent increases, because they're so astranomic, thata's whan we started looking at ways of saving energy, really, ot shouln't have taken a massive price increase to make people realise this, but that is what seems to have happened in a lot of cases.

As for the heating, I have been told in the past that you should keep all radiators on, even on the lowest setting because otherwise the others work harder to compensate to heat up rooms that have them off and end up costing more to run !
