Lightbulb Want An Unusual Name For New Pup - Suggestions?

We are picking up a 4 month old Rhodesian Ridgeback pup on Friday so we need a name for him!

Typically we are having a bit of a mental block We want an unusual name and don't mind if the everyday name is a shortened version of the full name. As Ridgebacks originally came from South Africa it would be good for him to have a SA name.

Shortlist we have is as follows:-

Tino (tee-no)
Niko (nee-ko)
Finbos (fin-boss) Fin for short
Jakura (jak-ur-a) Jak for short
Simba

Over to the inspirational SN masses (and yes I will post some piccies when I get him )

A good SA name: "Kruger".

My Alsation was called Kruger, named after one that belonged to Scottish relatives, and HE was named well before the advent of Freddy, of the same name

Hi mate

We came up with that as well last night as in Krugerrand and also Kruger National Park - but I could not get Freddie Kruger out of my mind

Keep em coming! The Zulu names could be worth a Google

My Ridgeback was called Obie, lovely dog but not the easiest to live with, had to have him PTS 3 years ago

Simba is a very common name for RBs as is Leo.

I also like Koda.

I'm not too keen on Simba. When you let him off the lead in the park, and shout for his return, you will get a canny few Labradors running to you
