Default Panic buying for EXTREME weather!

I'm in south east Texas, and today it was 75f, low 20's Centigrade. However tomorrow there is a cold front coming in, and by Tuesday there may be ICE! The forecast is to be around freezing all day, 30 - 32f.

All weekend people have been stocking up on gasoline, extra wood, food and water......... People have sold out of de-icer and salt! The local news channels (all eight of them) have been winding everyone up, despite the forecast for Wednesday being very mild. All the big oil companies are telling their staff not to come to work for safety reasons, though !

Slightly melodramatic IMO.......

Hello

I'm at Dallas airport at 32F (0c) typing this and all the flights are delayed. I'm not impressed!

Hard luck mate. I'm 200 miles south, it's a bit wet but 60f still...... We're forecast for less than 24 hours of ICE starting on Monday night..... Most don't think we'll survive! Good luck with your flight!

Substitute the word 'London' for 'Texas' and you'd have an equally accurate description of what occurs.
