Excellent news!!

I would make it £1000 INSTANT fine - crushed car/impounded lorry - 6 points

Second time caught - INSTANT BAN for 3 years!

It needs to be stopped, NOW!

I recently saw a Lorry driver steering with knees, texting on his phone and smoking a ***!! He should be SHOT! and I mean SHOT! ****! When I indicated he was a ****** he got all upset

Yep totally agree.I had to report a HGV driver on the phone while driving. The lorry had the number and the name of the company on it.He was totally oblivious to me my wife and daughter in my car and nearly wiped us out on a dual-carrigeway.When we passed him he had the cheek to look as if he had done nothing wrong, and tried to blame me for his incompitence.Never heard anything back

Good. The amount of times I've had cars drift into my lane and almost run me off the road while their drivers were on the phone. The funny thing is how you see people driving along with their elbow on the door armrest, pretending they're leaning their face on the palm of their hand for some reason. As if their phone isn't so obvious that way. Arseholes. Ban them from the road.

points and fine is no deterrant to stop these ****** using phones while driving
no police on road to enforce it or are they going to reprogramme speed cameras to catch them while coppers are in the cafe?

So he had his knees on the sides of the steering wheel

If he did how was he operating the Accelerator,Brakes?

Due to the position of the pedals, and i know that would be near impossible.

Correct me if im wrong.

NOT AGAIN this is getting a habit

Sorry but I have to totally agree with Pete.

There are no excuses nowadays for not having a hands free kit, most are cheaper than the £60 fine

Are you seriously telling me that none of you have used the phone whilst driving recently? I don't believe it! Not that I'm condoning it but the message just isn't strong enough - an immediate ban for, say, three months and I'm pretty sure that no one would take the chance. As it is there is little deterent.

Would I also be right in thinking that no one on this forum ever exceeds the speed limit?

The police should have the power to take the phone from the driver, remove the driver from the car, and then use the driver's car to run over the phone!

Yep, agree with this, bout time.

As above, it constitutes driving without due care and attention IMO.

Wanna use the phone? Pull over!!

Can't wait!
It's only been a £30.00 and no points for so long! When we gave out tickets people used to see it a mere inconvenience!
I went to a serious Road Collision the other week and several witnesses said the suspected offending driver hit the other car head on as he was "messing" presume texting on his phone. Thankfully the pregnant other driver was fine as was her unborn child!!!!
So shove it up your **** Prince ********!

What a shame. So many people talking sense. thought there was only one dick on this thread obviously not!
Were not Judge and Jury, I was merely showing my frustration if you were able to read that is.
