Default Licence Revoked - HELP !!

Hi,

have been stopped numerous times in the past for spot checks and have never been told that my licence had been revoked !!

Today had a nother spot check and was told that I shouldn't be driving so I need to contact DVLA and find out the deal.

Think it may be something to do with me not sending in my licence for points endorsemnt (SP30's) back in 2004??

DOes anybody know the procedure? How long it takes etc.? Can't afford to be without my licence as I need it for work and taking my disabled brother out and about too

Realise that I've been stupid and overlooked something someplace but right now need some help

cheers, Jai

Too little info to give you any real advice but if you are what we call a 'totter' which means you have penalty points and the missing ones take you over the 12 point threshold then you would be disqualified but not revoked, i have no real idea what you would be revoked for unless you are young and have a serious traffic offence which means a re test, sorry chap but you best ring DVLA and find out what its all about

They definately said revoked and not disqualified.

No traffic offences apart from SP30's really and an IN10 which I learnt my mistakes from and have never repeated that mistake again thankfully.

Think it was because I failed to send in my licence for endorsement.

Apparently I could've driven for a year afterwards ? and then after that a definite no no.

Remember having a conversation with somebody, can't remember who - they went to hire a minibus and the hire co called DVLA for a category check - turns out he'd been revoked too. DVLA wanted him to take a copy of his licence and a form and send it in??

If anybody can shed light it'd be great

So why don't you phone up DVLA and ask what's going on? It'll only be a muppet on the end who is not going to arrest you by phone

Didn't think i had scammed the system but what with a disabled brother and a bereavement things fell in the priority list.

If I'd thought I'd have scammed the system I'd have done a better job, not a half cocked one !!

No, just thinking there but for the Grace of, (insert Deity of choice), might have been I, or many here, in our younger more intemperate days.
I've said it before, me and Impreza Turbo in my younger years, probably never be posting.
I've the scars, well, from my motorcycle years.

I'm all legal and above board - once I get my licence back

TO be fair, the police guys were ok with me - just the traffic warden (wtf???!!) was being a right jobs worth with me !!

The main guy who was heading the operation there came across and asked if I felt they'd dealt with everything ok and I said yeah but your traffic warden mate is a complete **** Fecking hate traffic wardens !!!

Apparently when you get stopped generally they just check if you have a licence - they don't check if it's valid - what the hell is that about??!!

I did make a point of saying something in my defence and signing the statement saying that I'd been stopped on numerous occasions and had never been told that my licence had been revoked!

Oh well - a lesson learned!

If it has been revoked, surely that means you are not licensed to drive. That means uninsured too!

Why do you keep getting stopped for spot checks? Perhaps you need to change your driving style.

I'm 26, male, asian and driving an Impreza - take your pick lol

Spot checks are just that - las time I had a jobsworth copper knock on my door as he pulled up after driving past my house to check my V5 as he believed that the Bug eye headlamps didn't start on a 2001 X plate ?!!

He thought my car was a ringer - wasn't even a stop and search or anthing - just needed something to do I guess?

Some of them can be right tw@ts whereas others are sound
