Charity theme nights - which did you enjoy?

I've been roped into organising a charity event which I need to plan, prepare, photograph and submit a review of as part of my twice yearly appraisals (the things we do for a pay rise).
Last summer I held a beach party and beach olympic games, this year I want to go even bigger and better.
Has anyone been to any memorable charity events? What made them stand out? Were they free entry or ticket only events?
Some of the team have made suggestions including a "Lurve night" featuring speed dating although I'm not sure how that raises money for charity, car wash, back to skool, Stars in your eyes.
I'm toying with the idea of a 007 Casino night, not just for the Bond girls of course

Had our belated Christmas party last weekend, well, my old division that is. With a "Casino Royale" theme. Bond girls, floor show, actors playing various bond characters including a Borat lookalike as 008
We raised over £1100 for the NSPCC![Thumb](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/thumb.gif)
Last summer we ran a "Pirates of the Caribbean" summer ball, again, all proceeds to the NSPCC.
