Question are they still legal tender?

i have found some gas stamps in a drawer worth £50 on a Gas savings card that are over 15 years old

if i send them in to pay part of a gas bill can they be refused?

I'm sure it's not the first time you've found £50 in your drawers.

It also says

"Notes to editors
Gas stamps will stop being sold on 1st October 2003. Customers will be able
to redeem their stamps in post offices until January 2004 and thereafter by
sending them direct to British Gas."

So you should be able to send them in to British Gas. It did not have an end date for that....... Worth a try.

But the bucket must have cost you 78p from B & Q, therefore cutting your profit margin.
