Urgent Hi-Fi cable question!

Hi.
I've got someone booked to come around and lay some speaker cable under the floor boards for me prior to room redecoration. Just realised the cable I bought from Richer Sounds (miles away from house) is too short!
Need to pick up some more tommorrow but don't want to travel ages to RS. Is there any high street/retail park type shop that will sell medium level cable? Its for a Denon microsystem which will have the speakers upgraded.
There is a Maplins not too far away.

I bought some QED micro from the local Hi-fi shop , surely you must have a decent Hi-Fi place nearby , other than that what about Comet and the like .

Don't join two different types. Get new of right length and take RS stuff back.
Yes Maplins ok, they have a range of cables.
The speakers you are getting, will you want to biwire them, assuming they have biwire terminals? If so get the right cable.

Mart, thanks for the offer but I need quite a bit.
Thanks for all the advice. Just discovered there is a Sevenoaks hi fi store not a million miles away.
Vege, don't all speakers have two terminals?

well im another not for paying ridiculus amounts for speaker cables, i just use pro-audio ofc cables with neutrik speakon connectors. the last ones i got were 2.5mm core x10m with connectors £7.50. plenty good enough and is easy to disconnect should needs be. well worth fitting the speakon sockets to my hifi speakers

I read an article in What Hi-Fi mag a month a so back , And they got 4 volunteers to listen to a Home cinema system with different grades of speaker cable , and basically the dear stuff just sounded louder .
I think you have know your set up inside out to hear any benefit from £5/6 a metre cable . I used QED micro just because it goes under skirting boards ,round fireplaces and up walls a lot easier and looks more discreet .
