Victim of Blairs fascist state
am I.
Received an £80 fixed penalty notice last night, courtesy of Thames Valley's finest, for having a tinkle on some bushes in Abingdon (at 00.15 hours according to the ticket)
Now, a bit cheeky I'll admit, but hardly crime of the century. I was alone having just left a friends flat after a few beers and was about to take a cab home. I wasn't lairy, or shouting or wandering about with a traffic cone on my head - certainly not ASBO material (in my view ).
Interested to know if you sympathise with me or the plod?
Also interested in legal standing of these things? The small print suggests that by coughing up I'm not admitting guilt nor will I face any criminal charges. I also have the option of going to court.
Do I need to pay?
TIA

If you elect for jury trial then the state wont prosecute and even if the CPS does its unlikely that their barrister will offer any evidence. Alternatively you can opt for a trial with magistrates: theyll find you guilty, no matter what evidence you offer...

lol mate of mine got busted doing this, the officer made him out to be a right criminal and said 'what if a mother with a baby dropped its dummy on the floor in your **** and then put it back in the babys mouth?
im sorry ,but how likely is that to happen, and any mother who puts a dummy off the floor in a kids mouth is too stupid to be a mother lol

If you were caught short, and it was only in some bushes and you were not offending the public, I think that the fixed penalty is over the top. In the old days you were allowed to pee on the roadside if you were driving a horse so that your attention was not distracted. Wonder if that one is still on the statute books just for interest. Don't think it would apply to catching a cab though!

We dont have 1 public toilet in our town thats open anymore, all been shut or sold off. Yet they moan when people get caught short at closing time . I agree its rank people taking a **** in shop doorways ,but where can people go when the tight council ***** have shut all the public toilets to pay for their 40k a year gay, lesbian and transgender equality officers.

Argue that due to "global warming" you were doing you part in helping the bushes by supplying a form of "water".
You are paying eco taxes left right and center so, you are helping!

How many of the old films, particularly the "Carry On" ones, show a coach trip with all the passengers running into the bushes for a waz mid journey
I can't believe you being fined for doing this

The mistake you made was in not following up your p*ss antics by assaulting a pensioner, causing him to die from a heart attack.
Yobs blamed for pensioner's death.

There's more to this than meets the eye....

You are supposed to be allowed to take a leak on the road side as long as you have one hand resting on the nearside rear of your vehicle.
No good in your case mind as you were staggering home.

It is pretty silly. I mean - I think shop doorways is particulary minging - but popping out of the way and being discreet is something different.
But hey - its another detected crime they can add to their statistics for the failing Home Office to pat themselves on the back over. Just remember - Labours insistance on pursuing REAL criminals! Now pay up - because homeless heroin addicts mugging old ladies don't have any money.

Pay the fine and you'll be out of pocket but you'll get over it. If you contest it then they'll probably try to increase the charge to indecent exposure and you'll find yourself on the sex offenders register for life. Google that one - it has happened before!

P.S. £40k?, maybe in London! That'd be about 5% of the council work force here.
Must dash, there's a vacancy for Equalities Officer on the intranet...
