Default Any doctors on here?

Don't want to waste my local doctors time as they are busy enough but have a few chest pains which is causing me concern.

They pains are right across my chest, just below nipple line. If I apply pressure to the said area it is quite painful, I can feel it all the time like a dull ache//sensitive skin. Also had a bad back in exactly the same area. Any ideas? I thought maybe a chest infection? I'm 5'11, mid twenties & 11 stone and I like to think phsically very fit.

Thanks

a poorly chop

I'm asking here first just in case this is a bug or something going round, my doctor is always very busy and don't want to waste his time.

Thanks

Could be anything - pleuresy, digestive problems, liver pain, referred pain from your back.

The symptoms you describe unfortunately, could point to any number of problems - most of which are, thankfully, not serious. Pain and sensitivity in the skin can be caused by many factors so any guess at diagnosis would be extremely likely to be innacurate without further information.

There is a great deal number of viruses and illnesses doing the rounds currently and these can have a wildly varying number of symptoms which differs from person to person.

Your doctor may be a busy man, but he'd shudder to think of you looking for diagnosis on an automotive BBS! Go and see him - he might be lonely!

Sounds like a torn muscle.......

Best thing to do is cool your 'core temperature' asap, this is done by lowering your ***** into a bucket of ICE COLD WATER for 10 minutes!

Once they have gone blue, fish them out and slowly warm them under a hot tap for another 3 minutes....

The last thing you will be thinking about now is your chest pains.......

Problem sorted

You need to see a Doctor immediately, particularly if you've had a bad back across your chest, just below the nipple line...... that is unusual and may mean your body is back to front!

Had similar two years ago.

Full emergency works, offered Morphine, ECG, X Ray, etc - It was a lUng infection.

Bit scary at the time though and I tried to get rid of the pain by "running and press upping" it away!

Running a specialist medical clinic the FIRST thing we would tell you to do if you called and explained the symptoms described would be to go and see your GP!

It is very important to rule out a few things and this can only be done by visiting your doctor.

PLEASE MAKE AN APOINTMENT TO SEE HIM

Then once you know it is nothing serious yo can risk asking for advice on a frum like this if you still need it which hopefully you wont.

Kind regards

Robin

Mid 20s, fit, sensible weight, you'd be very unlucky to be having a heart attack! Even more so if you are not a smoker, don't have diabetes, and have no history of very early heart disease in your family.

The chest wall tenderness usually signifies it is muscular. If you are not coughing or have a fever/fast pulse etc you are unlikely to have a chest infection.

If you were my patient and you rang me up this morning with this I'd have seen you by now. Well not today, because I'm on holiday

Think that's why I got so much attention. It was so unusual.

A super fit guy I knew (27) simply dropped down dead one night.
It turned out his Dad had some heart problem which hadn't shown up on this guy.
