Just got a phone call from the local Chips games shop confirming i will get one of the consoles definately on 23 March, thank god for that.

Thought i was going to be hunting around last minute and checking all the robb*ng Barstewards on Flea Bay, have saved the cash up and looking forward to getting it now.

I know the prices will go down after a short period but i am one of those saddo's who has to have the latest stuff(within reason),anyone else got theirs confirmed yet and what games are you getting???

Resistance is my first, also how good is the quality on the Blue Ray player.

No games console has replicated the advancement the original PS displayed when it first came out. To think it was a deal that had gone sour between Sony and Nintendo that brought about the birth of the PS.


Having been originally weaned on Amstrad and then the SNES the first time I played on the PS I was blown away. Tekken 2 and Law's special move running up the body was definitely a seminal moment in gaming for me. Then the discovery of Lara Croft and Tomb Raider meant many hours whiled away sat in front the screen.

Nothing after the PS has been the same. Thank you Ken Kutaragi.

its not over priced considering for what your getting, and especially seeing as current ps3 games are running at half power, yet still look better than 360 graphics

I couldn't agree more, the jump from Sega Mega Drive to PS1 was huge, things have just been made prettier since, no real jaw dropping moments, although I'm looking forward to whats coming out in 12 months time as these new machines usually take a while to get the best out of them, and it'll be cheaper

strange you say that when most review sites say the graphics arent quite as clear and crisp on the ps3, also developers are saying it is to difficult to develop games for.

Also, I bet developers would say the full potential of the PS2 and Xbox 360 hasnt been realised either

Rather put £425 towards revamping my PC to DX10 spec.

DX10 games when they come out will blow all next gen consoles away

There was no jump from a mega drive to PS1 unless you are talking about personal purchases. You had the 32x and Saturn from Sega.

I'm the other way. Can't play First Person games for **** on a console. Too used to mouse for looking around.

Only really got a PS2 for GT4. Only tend to buy a console for racing games.

Oh - they'll sell alright; sure many of us remember the days where we'd listen in awe to the kid whos parents were stupid enough to pay £120 for an imported Super Street Fighter II Turbo cart for the SNES

Here's me only just considering buying a 360; although I know I'll want a PS3 for when GT5 comes out!

The worst part about paying the £425 is that you know after 6 months it will be half, still doesn't stop me wanting one right now especially after seeing this.
