Default New Fireplaces

Well after almost a year of work the house is beginning to take shape.

Two old brick fireplaces being ripped out to be replaced by repro period ones that were meant to be there but removed by some previous idiot

Tell me you're not putting a gas fire in there.

Yes. Why not? It might aswell 'work' and do some good. I'm not going to start burning solid fuel thats for sure.

Paul. Cast iron. No not straight swap some work has to be done to the wall to make it fit flush. If you want to know the price pm me.

We have identical fireplaces in the sitting and dining room - Lytton arch, which replaced the hideous 70's gas ones that were there. Sitting room is back to solid fuel, dining room is gas.

Went from this

to this.

Also ripped the floor up including joists, re-done the floor and re-decorated since this.

A big improvement mate! I couldn't be bothered with solid fuel. Gas just seemed a cleaner, easier option.

Some better pix of the second one.
