Question Restaurant recommendations around Bracknell?

Now I know that Bracknell isn't exactly the culinary centre of the UK, but I've got a client based there and I need to book up somewhere for a decent meal. Any recommendations for somewhere close to Bracknell (i.e. Ascot, Sunninghill etc)?

There's a bar / restaurant right next to Ascot railway station which is quite nice.

Rossini in Wokingham was quite nice when we went there with all the family too.

The Downshire arms Pub on Twin Bridges does decent grub from what I remember, or The Horse and Groom on Horse and Groom roundabout which is the last roundabout out of Bracknell on the Ascot Road, or The Forresters Arms further up Ascot Road. To name just a few. oh yeah and the Travel Lodge near the old 3M building near Priestwood does good grub to. There is also a Beefeater on the main road past the sports centre which incidentally is at teh opposite end of the road from the Downshire Arms past the Fire and Ambulance stations.

Agree that Thai Square in Windsor is great but that's some distance away.

There's nothing really in Bracknell to write home about unless you go into the hotels. And they are boring.

Wokingham has some lovely restaurants:
Teak House - Thai - great decor (on the main street - is it called peach street?)
Rossini, Sorrento, The Courtyard - Italian - all nice food
Ruchetta - something a bit special (rose street)

Does Broadmoor still test its escape siren at 10am monday morning?

AFAIR we had 2 or 3 escapes in the time I was at school there, I remember coming home from London one night with my parents and seeing an escaped prisoner on the Nine Mile Ride section through the woods to the Lookout from Bracknell Rd, only realised it was an escaped prosoner when we got to Bracknell Rd and the police showed us a pic and asked us if we had seen this man.

That siren was feckin loud when you were standing underneath it

when I got a tad older we used to go to the staff social club as 99% of my mates parents worked at Broadmoor loony bin.

like clockwork! - I am in sandhurst and use it as my 'over-slept monday alarm final safety net'

last guy to escape killed someone in aborfield... they sounded the alarm and nothing. that's why they test it everyweek.

Sure do mate Kathy Galzetzer was a mate of mine sort of, and my sister I think, used to live behind the firestation on that tiny road to the rec. I used to fancy her but never told her

She used to hang out with Michelle Kirkham and Jackie Townsend. I went to school with Rebecca, Jackies older sister.

I also rememeber going to a new years party that she organised at the firestation when I was about 14 or summat, can't honestly remember.

She went out with a Guy called Chris Probert for a while, last think I heard was she was married but no idea who to.

The Warren on the border of Binfield/Wokingham is very good for food (gastro pub type place)
Stag & Hounds in Binfield is good for pub food
The Cottage (as already mentioned) is very good but book early
The Cinammon Tree Indian (very close to The Cottage and Stirrups Hotel) is the best Indian in the area
Loads of nice places in Windsor - Olive Tree (i think) on the high street is a good Greek, Carluccios in the Station, Ha Ha Bar, Bel & The Dragon near the Theater, La Tasca tapas place in the Station
The Star in Holyport is very good food
Golden Retriever in Crowthorne (nearly) is also very good

Dave
