Alot of small plastic stuff is cemented together, so the bond need to be broken to get it apart.
I did it once on a laptop PSU when the cable broke and needed resoldering. I had to run a very shap stanley knife, with plenty of force around the seam between the two halves to make enough space to get a screwdriver in to pry it open. Then when finished glued it back together.
Obviously you risk ruining it completely and slashing your fingers by doing such an operation. But my motto is: if its broken, you can't make it much worse. LOL.
