see its different for me, the 1st mouthful makes me pull a funny face due to the taste, 2nd mouthful doesnt touch the sides, 3rd is the end of the 1st pint, onwards to the 2nd pint, which tastes much much better. ![Big Grin](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)

...as with all good things, i'd say it's the wonderful frisson of anticipation.
look no further than sir john mills in 'ice cold in alex' - the prospect of that first cold carlsberg in cairo is a recurring theme through much of the film as they cross the desert.
[the final scene required 10 takes. they couldn't get a realistic head with a non-alcoholic substitute so had to use the real thing. mills was bladdered when they got the scene in the can. not that you'd know it.]

2nd always tastes best IMO but if your driving then yes, the 1 pint has to be stratigically placed through the night (preferably towards the end) because you'll love the taste and want more but cant

On a hot and thirsty day I have been known to order 2 pints together with the second "for a friend".
But I wouldn't like people to know this
