So does the basic rate come in at a higher level now or has he just shafted all the lower wage earners?

NHS get an extra 8bn and the armed forces only get a piffling 400m!!!!

That is going to go along way isn't it! what does that equate to 4 new fighter jets or a 200 new tanks!! what about decent vehicles, clothing, personal weapons, protection, webbing, summat to stop the yanks shooting our troops etc the list goes on.

Come on, do me a favour ................. £43k is chicken feed for Subaru Impreza Owners - surely to god!

But, ok, maybe a few are on less than £40k but not many I would hazard a guess?

I mean, ScoobyNet is Tory - you are Labour if you are on poor wages!!! So, how does that sit then??

the 20% Base rate is a complete red herring - It means nothing. Because he has scrapped the 10% rate to £7200, any benefit is wiped out - Its a complete smokescreen.

I just worked out the difference between the current tax regieme and the 2008 change to 20% and no 10% rate.

I will be better of by £6....

... A year.

He's reduced corporation tax for large business, and f**ked over small companies. Way to go, Einstein!

Also he's changed the banding limits for National Insuarance to bring it in to line with Income tax. So you might pay a bit less income tax, but your NI bill will just increase instead.

National Insurance now is just really a second level of Income tax.

nope - most of the country will go by whatever headlines the Sun or NEws of the World spew out without having the patience to sit through a realistic analyis of the budget. It is not until the detail of the budget comes out in a few days are we able to tell exactly how much we have been shafted by him, but by this time the media bandwagon will have moved onto something else except if you are a newsnight or Question Time viewer.

When was he ever going to do anything other than give a sound bite of a tax cut to be sellable to the dense masses. It wont work though as it is becoming even more clear that he is as untrustworthy as the original Bliar himself.

I hope the lybour party vote Grodon in cos that way we stand a chance of getting away from the utter waste of OUR money that they are.

ps - anyone that doesnt vote does not have the right to moan so unless you ticked a box at the last general election which I suspect half of you didnt - you have no voice.
