The pakistani side were knocked out of the tournament sunday night they have all been interviewed today and finger printed and are flying out of jamaica first thing sat morning. The International Cricket Council Director Malcolm Speed was at the Jamican police news conference and stated that the tournament will continue. How the other teams will feel about that we will perhaps find out in the morning. Incidently Bob Woolmer was previously the coach of the the South African team for some 6 years or so if i remember correctly and 5 or 6 of the current South African team would also have played under Bob Woolmer. So i would have thought that it may cause some serious problems in their preparations for the knock out stages starting next week.

There is talk in the papers about match fixing and Woolmer was going to spill the beans.

Rumours about the gambling mafia type people involved.

I have to say,I have always thought trying to fix a cricket/football match is a hard call unless the whole team were in on it!

Indeed, it's all about match rigging (according to my cricket-mad boss) as Wolmer was about to go public on it, apparently

Terrible for his family.

He might have been killed by disgruntled fans although they didn't break into his room.

Or by people who had lost a big bet. But I'm surprised you could even get odds for the Ireland/Pakistani match; they must have been heavily odds on favourites (yes I know they lost). But there were other bets possible like progression through the tournament which Ireland blew away.

Or they say Woolmer might have been about to expose a major betting scandal. There is some big money floating around in the betting game. Hope they sort it. I can remember some of his England appearances. dl
