That's impressive. That man has his machine totally figured out.
Shame he donned a false-nose-and-glasses disguise to hide his identity though

Yes CDP, I must say that is impressive, takes a bit of fine judgement to be able to do an aerobatic or two and then carry out an engine off landing with alfresco entertainments on the way down.

Glad to say that I managed to keep all the engines running even though I was mobbed once by a flock of seagulls at Cleveland Ohio during an inverted wing over. I think they had as big a shock as I did!

Just as well J4CKO, it tended to marmelise the first stage of the engine compressor and when the engine surged it would cough the broken blades forwards, round the splitter and in to the engine next to it which then did the same thing! It only happened once to me I am glad to say and not the thing you want at abnormal angles to the ground

It is true to say that the bird concerned was converted to oily and fishy smelling smoke!

I like the acrobatic tea ceremony. You wouldn't believe it, if you didn't see it with your own eyes.

I bet your @rse did a pretty fair impersonation of a flock of seagulls at the time too

Out of curiosity I've just Wikipedia'd the pilot, a guy by the name of Bob Hoover, and found this

His air show aerobatics career ended over medical concerns, when his pilot's certificate was suspended by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). It later developed that two FAA officials made a pact to "get Hoover" due to his advanced age, making claims that his maneuvers during one demonstration were "erratic." Other pilots at the show testified that this was not true, but while the process dragged out, Hoover was granted a pilot's license by Australia's aviation authorities, enabling him to fly in any part of the world other than the United States.

Eventually the truth came out, and Hoover's US pilot's certificate was reinstated, but the damage had been done — he was unable to get the insurance necessary to perform, due to the company's fears. Hoover continued to fly his P-51 Mustang at shows, sometimes in tight formation with Yeager, but the Shrike Commander act was over.

This episode also continues to haunt the FAA, as pilots have lost much of their trust for the agency due to the actions of those two officials.

The official term was "sixpence/half-a-crown" CPD.

Mentioning Vulcans reminded me of when I went to Exeter Airshow as a kid and saw one there, the loudest thing I've ever heard.

Put Vulcan Bomber into you tube and got this, it's the exact show I went to at Exeter!

YouTube - Avro Vulcan bomber takes off

Good to see and hear it again

I tell you what would have been really inpressive CPD, and that is if he had filled the glass with tea with the aircraft inverted and he was pushing negative G so that the tea poured upwards into the glass held upside down and then he rolled right way up without spilling a drop! I bet if that had been mentioned he would have tried it though
