Another Ebay thread
I'm slightly confused, although not overly bothered, the way this auction went.
I've just "won" 2x items off Ebay. The item was adverised as 1 item although 2 were available. I put in a maximum bid of 3.00 (99p start bid) and selected quantity of 2 (there were no other bids.)
Like a cunning fox I put this bid in with around 30 seconds to go, like you do on Ebay, and at the end of the auction I had won the item for 3.00.
It showed that there was 1 other bid (1.01p) 2 minutes before mine (which didn't show although I kept refreshing the screen).
What's baffled me is why did I have to pay 3.00 for each one when there was apparently only 1 bid for 1 of the items? Is this right?
I am still happy with my prize anyway as I feel I have got a good bargain but wouldn't want to fall into the same trap again if the values were higher.
Just a light hearted topic for anybody that is interested

I use ebay a fair bit, my understanding has always been that the price you bid is for one item, so if you want two of the same you multiply your bid by two.
My understanding anyway but i don'y claim to be any expert, i only have about 100 transactions in the last 3 years

This happened to me recently too, I bid on some wheels that had no other bids with a starting price of £200 and put in my maximum bid of £300, it jumped straight to £300 which confused the hell out of me. I assume mine was because my maximum bid took me up to the sellers reserve
