It would appear that a Mexico wide drug battle is raging at the moment with five suspected drug dealers turning up dead in a truck in Cancun.

It would appear that it all kicked off BIG STYLE between rival drug gangs, and the Police sealed off the entire area, meaning that the drug gangs had nowhere to run so they had to stay and fight it out.....

During all this chaos the Police also took the opportunity to shoot 6 other gang members dead in a west side slum...

I wouldn't worry, Cancun (mexican for snakes nest) has two parts... tourist part is sealed off from the rest of downtown Cancun so you'll get no trouble whatsoever....

I visited downtown on one day, popped to buy some cheap cigs (£2 = 200) and was offered 'coke' at every corner.... "Eey, inglissh.... white.... iss.. guuu'd, try foor freeee"

Im not worrying, I am stopping in the Riveria Maya part. Went Cancun a few years back and ventured into downtown - only the once though, as soon as we got there we turned around and set back off again!!
