Evening All,
Was on the A1 (M) just South of Stevenage heading North this Afternoon ( see post on Subaru/Porsche).
On A Bridge, there was a Camera on a Tripod, on it's own, to the side was a Silver Estate with Yellow Day Glow stuff on it.
Detector didn't go off, didn't notice any Warning Speed Camera Signs, I do so hope it was a Car Tax Van.
Any advice from people who live in that area please?
Thanks.
Kind regards
Alan MaC

There could be a number of reasons for your detector not going off .. namely ..
1/ If your unit also has a GPS based DB of camera sites .... the unit was in a site unlisted in your db
2/ If it was a gatso/radar unit ... your detector will probably be detecting laser and not radar as radar detectors are illegal
3/ If it was a laser unit ... your detector will only go off if the laser beam strikes your sensors .. and if you have it mounted on the dash it is unlikly to detect a very narrow (approx 30cm at 300m) beam aimed at your number plate (typically)
Looks like you have a 14 day wait on your hands ... if you think you may have inadvertantly taken your eye off your speed ... as a NIP has to be served on you 1st class within 14 days of the alleged incident if I remember correctly.

Thats my neck of the woods and it may be bad news, Herts definitely used to run a tripod mounted camera off the bridges, their ANPR etc is usually van or car mounted. Their favourite haunts used to be Letchworth Gate on the Bridge and also on the 2 Lane stretch just north of where you saw them.

wait the 14 days alan, if it comes thru i can help you mate. if it comes after the 14 days i can tell you what to do next. all this depends on wether they have a clear photo of you, if they do you're fukked, if they don't then its all systems go.
