Going on holiday soon and will be hiring 2 cars. I like the idea of having a pair of 2-way radios so the cars can keep in constant contact, and instead of spending hours trawling the internet for reviews etc, I figured the good ol' Scoobynet community would come up with some recommendations.
Looking to pay no more than £50 for a pair, preferably with a "hands-free" mode.

Any PMR handset should be fine over that short a distance.
I've got Motarola T6222's which are fantastic, not sure what they cost these days though - try searching for PMR on eBay.

I got these a while back Binatone Trek 100 (304 Channels) 2-Way Radio Specs - DealTime.co.uk for use when a few of us went to Spain in two cars, they worked very well although the cars were never more than two miles apart, so I dunno if they can be used over the 5 mile radius claimed, also I got them from Maplin at the reduced price of £15, so no complaints here
