Fuji Fine Pix 6800 - anyone got one?

![Question](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/icons/icon5.gif)
Currently looking around for a decent digital camera, and the FinePix 6800 seems to fit the bill & have received good reviews.
However, anyone here either own one or used one? Is it worth the money or are there better alternatives at the price (c£540 with 64mB card)?
All views gratefully received.
Hugh

Dont know why I thought it was a 6800 but never mind!
might be worth looking into the 4700 finepix tho, dunno what they cost now, but they were 600 odd 6-8 months ago?!

Mr Blowdog has one. Probably because it says "porsche" on it ![Wink](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/wink.gif)
Personally, I've got the 6900 which (flame suit on) uses the same CCD but has more control over features and a larger (6x) optical zoom.
Excellent bit of kit, providing you don't want full photographic control, or a 6x zoom in which case buy the 6900z. But the 6900z is bulkier.
Hie thee hither to Jessops, or another local specialist, and have a play. You shouldn't be disappointed in the quality!

After looking at various results from each I chose the Canon Powershot s40. I am replacing an old Fuji so was quite keen to get one again, as it has been great, but found the pictures had a lot less 'depth' and didnt quite have the same clarity as the Canon. The difference was very marginal though. In the end I also preferred compact flash rather than smartmedia as I have changed over since getting a Compaq Ipaq.

Try looking on www.pcindex.co.uk to get the best price. I've got a 4700zoom which is ace, although you can get camerashake if the light is bad (outdoors in winter). Got mine from Dabs.com

Avi, what's a "bargain" price?
If it's too cheap, be very wary.
But otherwise they are superb 5MP cameras with an excellent lens, and excellent quality. Feels a tad plasticky, but is really one of the best sub-£1000 cameras out there.
Nick.

Nick, It is from a trusted supplier, I think it's about £700. Look's like the best option for me, and the Macro Functions are perfect for what i require.

Yep I've got one and it's ace. I got mine from unbeatable.co.uk for £529.99 but then bought the 64 meg card for £30. saw it even cheaper on Pricerunner.co.uk. Buy it, its an ace camera.

Thanks for the replies chaps.
Have now bought it - £530 incl additional 64mB card - & will be trying it out over the weekend. Will then probably spend many a frustrating hour failing to post the pictures onto this board![Roll Eyes (Sarcastic)](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/rolleyes.gif)
Actually noticed that PC World advertising (The Times 21.12) it for just under £500 with the standard 16mB card.
