Just come back from the Scumball Rally. The Event tag line was Faster. Longer. Further.
With 2200 miles and 7 countries, that is remarkably accurate.
I'm totally exhaused and going to bed, but for now this picture sums it up.

Got back at 5.45am myself this morning - we managed to rack up 3000 miles in total from door to door!!!!
Will collect my thoughts and pop up some pictures at some point today.

When I worked it out, it's comparable to a week away in the sun, but you have car left over at the end. We still have to make up our minds on the fate of our BMW, it's now a bit of an old friend and we don't really want to sell it!

I know that some people spent more on their cars; but ours was £430 but needed £500 of work and a service. Entry fees are £160 per head (min of two per car). Then there was preparatory stuff like CBs, bulb kits, fire extinguishers and other such stuff. The ferry was £60; fuel for us would have been seven tanks at £50 each and European breakdown cover was £50. On top of that camping (15 euro a head) + food, and of course beer!

Yay, 'twas a good trip. Our 320 BMW estate decided to blow it's headgasket before we even started which was a slight concern. However, she managed just shy of 2300 miles, mid field, with the heater running constantly, windows open and right foot planted to the floor. HERE are some pictures we took, GPS speed recorded on the Autobahn (honestly officer) showing 122mph in a 16 year old 2.0 BMW estate with a blown head gasket. Hurrah!

JohnnyRob, was yours the white or the silver three series estate? I hadnt realised that there was another SN member on the rally (besides us, Miles and astraboy).
