You know,a 'Pint',Miles per Hour etc.Fuel consumption measured in MPG in car tests. In fact there seem to be loads that escape the net.
.How come Greengrocers/Butchers and sweety shops all get it in the neck if they don't serve in metric rubbish and yet the speedos on our cars aren't kph?
Mind you,a Pint wouldnt sound half as good/desireable in metric terms
.
Anyone got any more,or indeed an explanation

Plus I saw a local market stall at the weekend selling strawberries by the pound. Sailing close to ther wind there .... he could well have been hit by the metrication police big time ......
Sorry, but it's all b*llux! *IF* there was/is a caes for metrication then fine but why make imperial measures illegal??? Just run them side by side until the Imperial dies out.

Give you an inch and you take 8/5 of a kilometre ![Lol1](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/lol1.gif)
Most engineers far prefer metric measures. It is much easier to calculate the weights of different volumes in metric. The govt. should have grasped the nettle and converted road signs some years ago. Now we build roads in metric and sign them in imperial. (And when a sign says roadworks for 5m, is that 5 metres?).
But agree that there is no need to make imperial illegal. It is only a case of getting used to metric measures and we will all happily compare km/litre of fuel in the brave new world
(Exception being NASA space missions, but they are American.)

I don't see why we should have to change our own system just to toady up the the Eu and all those plonkers in it who just want to get complete control of our country anyway.
Time we found a real leader again who is prepared to stand up to them!
