Default Online estate agents! yes or no?

Hi all,
I was thinking to put my property on one of the Online estate agents.
In fact this is the one looks good!!!..... Estate Agent Selling Property>Right Move Agents @ House Network Sales

Has anyone tried them or other online estate agents?

Most companies will propmote your property on, rightmove, fish4homes, propertyfinder etc.

What do u think? good or bad idea?

Anyone with experience on this type of selling???

Any info would be much appreciated.

Mike

we've had three valuers round this week, two were on-line agents
one was £199+vat (price didn't include f/s board, that was £30 extra, also £30 extra was a floor plan)
the other £299inc vat (exrta £30 for floor plan, only did rightmove, didn't do local property guide ad, unless you wanted to pay £30 extra an incertion. a f/s board was included tho)

we've decided to go with the high street agent (£1300+vat flat fee. f/s board + floor plan included, covering all the internet sites, also local property guide every week for the first two weeks then every three weeks after that)

reason we went for them is that during normal office hours someone can ring and speak with the agent, where as we found ringing an internet company you sometimes got transfered to a mobile to leave a message, they did get back to us but we don't want someone wanting our place giving up as they can't get hold of anyone for details.. and moving on to another property.

Very good advise. Cheers.

Anymore from others?

Given that some of them are very cheap - why not give it a go with the online service? If it works, then great, you've saved a few quid. If not hunt around and get a good deal with a local agent.

Have a look at The Little House Co. Packages start from £89.

Thumbs down

Aren't RightMove the company who are currently selling house details to the government so that they can build up a master database of all properties and then screw you on your council tax 'cos you have a nice garden or happen to be near a good school (whether or not you have kids)???

Online Estate Agents - Sell Your House with BrightSale.co.uk 0.5%, no sale - no fee, paid legal fees for sellers, no tie in contract, multiple agency deals only so you can use other agents at the same time, part of one of the largest syndication networks around too, fastest growing online estate agent.

Free for sale sign, pro photography (if wanted) 7 day freephone advice line 8am-8pm, viewings calendar, eBay style messaging system...

Best deal around for selling property, high street or online.

That is kind of true, Rightmove are "allegedly" selling their user info to the government but they are not in cahoots with them as such.

Also, Rightmove is not an online estate agent, its a place where high street estate agents advertise their properties.

Thanks
5 viewings

They've been around I believe since February.
No rightmove ad, but they do everything else (primelocation etc).
I thought it was worth a punt considering there was no upfront cost, they only charge if you sell with them. If you don't - you don't owe them anything. Turned out to be a wise decision really, saved about 2k in total over my local agents quote.

Yes and no, humans are covered but objects aren't. Data such as property type, sold price etc are freely available from the Land Registry (where I work ) anyway. My guess is RM will be selling information like number of bedrooms and reception rooms etc, possibly asking price to sold price ratio too but that will be about it. The LR doesn't hold this kind of data but it would be very valuable.
