Default Piranhas

I know some of you keep piranha and other odd fish, so maybe you can help.

My nephew has 4 large pianhas which he has lost interest in and no longer looks after properly.

What the hell do we do with them? Anyone want them? No idea exactly what they are or where he got them but I understand they may no longer be entirely legal...

Please feel free to mail me - simon(at)motorbikestoday(dot)com or message me.

Thanks I hope.

Feed them to the cat.....

oops sorry, realistically it would be the other way round

Can you not sell them to a shop?

Guy I bought a Vivarium from, has 2 very large piranhas in a 6 foot tank in his living room

They now sell them in the local shop by me now, as they get inundated by the chavs to buy them, and they sell tons of them

No disrespect to your nephew SB but pretty much every fish stockist I have spoke to that has sold Piranhas, said its only the young hoody chav type that buy them, like a status along with the Pit Bulls etc

Sure its not the case everywhere, but they do seem to be the majority who buy them

They're perfectly legal, and to be honest - entirely harmless in such a small group - as with many such creatures, they have a fearsome reputation which they don't really deserve, actually, they're really just bullies who only pick on weak things when they're in big groups

I would happily stick my hand into a tank with Piranhas in simply because I know they would scatter and hide behind the nearest rock/bogwood/large plant.

All they really need is someone with a big tank. Unfortunatly I'm not in a position to home them otherwise I gladly would.

You might want to try the forums at Tropical Fish Centre You may find someone to home them there.

Sonic, though he's basically OK you've just pretty well described my nephew...

Prasius, that's interesting, thanks.

But if anyone actually wants them I think they'd go free. Bromley area.

Pah - if they wanted a really hard 'fish' they'd get a Crayfish. Now they are vicious little F***ers.
