SONY ERICSSON 750i
I have been given a 750i that is currently locked to Vodafone but dose any know if I get it unlocked would I be able to use it on the 3 network as Im on 3 at the moment and the handset I have is playing up

I took my P610i into a shop in town that advertised phone inlocking, cost me £ 6.00 to get ti done. Sure it will ot be a problem, lot of market stall offer the service as well

The reason I ask is I asked at a well known phone shop and they said that the 750i would not work on the 3 network but I don’t know if that was just to put me of. Its pointless me getting it unlocked if it wont work on 3

The K750i is not a 3G phone so it probably won't work on the 3 network. I know there are a couple of 2G phones like the Nokia 6230i that will accept a 3 sim card but I don't believe it works with all Nokias. Your best bet is to try and pick up a cheap ex 3 contract phone.
