I did one a couple of years ago. My parents collected the vouchers and couldn't go, so I went with the missus and the kids.

Went to Pendine Sands, caravan was ok - only extra cost was a few quid each for the amusements laid on night-time I seem to remember.

Oh, and obviously the vast amounts of wine for me and the missus to consume when the kids were asleep

If you're looking to use it as a place to crash out but you spend most of the time off the site then it's fine. I'm off down to Tenby in a couple of weeks to one of these, but I couldn't stay on the site for any length of time. The ones in France aren't bad mind!

Some of these tourist parks are frequented by some of the worst drunken chavs you can imagine.
I'm not sure where the Sun is offering but the Haven and similar style parks are best avoided.

Cheers

They've just run one of their "Sun Holidays" offers. Me and Mrs went on 2, the other year, no difference what so ever than going to any other caravan park.

Have put in for 2 again this year. Depends what you want out of a holiday. We just want to get a way somewhere and not too fussed where. I'm not a lover of flying, so this is perfect for me. If you go a few weeks later (the ones that aren't offered) you get a couple of days extra, and a very empty wallet, not for me I'm afraid !!!

Hope this helps.

Just need to watch where they are sending you, Caravan parks range from the scum of the earth to the five star elite and anywhere in between.

Mostly Haven, but out of season, hence the £10 deal so not many people around TBH.

Can be hit and miss. Last one we went on was chav free and we ended up in a really nice caravan with an enclosed decking area which was great for my little lad to run around in.

Previous ones haven't been so good, full of scummers in footie shirts and kids with skinheads. And that's just the girls.

We tend to use them as a base for doing something else 'cos I'm cheap.

I always win at bingo, though, because I'm usually the only one there that can recognise different numbers and doesn't try to eat the pens.

Those types of caravan parks are my idea of a holiday from hell

Don't mind camping and have our own tent outfit for trips up to North Yorks Moors and Dales, but spending time in a Chav Haven - I'd rather nail my bollox to a plank of wood!

yep couldnt get in necker island on account of the strict no children policy,

this suited me fine but andrea was a little unhappy

i sent it off yesterday, 60 for a long weekend is ok, we always go on day trips out in the car around there anyway, so if we can get a caravan on a site we'll be well happy, as it means no driving back and i can get mullered.
