Question Bank delay on issuing charge statements

My g/f is currently after Abbey National for the last 6 years worth of statements. She made her data protection request well over 2 months ago but has just received one years worth of statements. She has rung Abbey several times recently and each time she's been told 'there is a backlog etc'. I was under the impression they had 6 weeks max to comply with any data protection request, especially for something that seems so straighforward, afterall she has paid the required £10.

Anyone have any suggestions as to what she should do now? I've tried to look on a gov't website dealing in inquiries like this but it seems I can never log onto it.

What's happened to the originals? It's sensible to keep them for 6 years for tax reasons anyway.

Have a look on here:
Unfair Bank Charges

or here:
Bank charges: Reclaim them, they're unlawful, so you can get six years money back | MoneySavingExpert: Consumer Revenge, Credit Cards, Shopping, Bank Charges, Cheap Flights and more

The bank has 40 days to respond. If they don't, these sites tell you what to do.

I have all of my original statements and have no charges whatsoever on my account. But we're talking about a woman here

Thanks guys.

The Abbey were useless when we dealt with them. Took six months, when the statements arrived they included three years worth of someone elses, complete with address, telephone number, sort code and account number. Quality service
Might still have some contact details for the managers if you need them.
