How can I stop damn cats sitting on the car!!!!
Stupid problem to have, but a cat round our place [I don't know whos it is] likes to sit on the fabric roof of my girlfriends StreetKa! We only bought it last Thursday and yesterday I noticed a stack of hair on the roof. I knew it was a cat [as they like ****ting on our garden too], and then this morning when we left the house to come to work, there it was, sat of the roof of the little Ford
How can I stop this happening, the stupid animal is gonna scratch the paintwork jumping on to the car innit? I see Halfords has got car caps [as the cat obviously likes the feel of the fabric roof], but has anyone got any other ideas?
Cheers

Sell the car, unfortunately it is the only way
I dont know if them sonic repellant things work
I often get a cat on the bonnet after driving the car, as they like the warmth, my old cat even used to stay sat on the bonnet even after me reversing off the drive and heading off down the road !!

Vicks vaporub gives off a smell that cats can't stand- if you can find a couple of discrete areas around the car to put some (mudflaps etc), that may well help. Its useful to stop cats scratching your furniture too if you put some around the bottom of the bed or on the legs of a sofa etc

We have a cat that likes to sit on convertibles he weights 9kg's as well.
Get some cat behaviour spray and a water gun.
Spray the roof with the behaviour spray and if you see the cat near the car shoot it with water.
If you scare the cat off while it's on the roof the chancers are it will use its claws to get better grip!

There used to be a neighbour's cat who loved nothing more than to curl up on the (brand new) soft and warm vinyl roof of my old MX5 and soak up a bit of sun for a few hours. It's usual method of descent used to be a claws out slide down the plastic window
I found that a water spray bottle set to 'jet mode' and filled with ice cold water then aimed silently at the cat from an upstairs windows cured the little ****** of it's habit
We also found that the same method worked for the chicken who used to fly (no really!) across the beck behind our house to eat all my duck and bird food
I love animals me

Cats definitely do not like Ultrasonic. My granny, many many years ago, took delivery of a TV with an ultrasonic remote contol - the latest mod-con at the time
Cat sitting on lap - pressed the "on" button of the remote ... the cat jumped in the air and ran off not to return for several hours!
As a result, I built an ultrasonic cat scarer - christened the Allez Cat - which my parents deployed to keep cats off favourite plants. It ate through batteries though
So - after that introduction - yes, I would have thought an ultrasonic scarer would do the trick - it could be run off the cigarette lighter maybe?

Big cat (Lion, etc.) sh1te scares domestic cats away. You can get some of this from your local zoo. Smear it over the roof of the Ka and I can guarantee you won't have a problem with domestic cats sitting on your car, sorry, girlfriend's car's roof.
There's a thread around somewhere where someone tried the ultrasonic device with no effect, later finding out that the cat in question was deaf

Me dad has this thing facing his vegtable garden. when it detects movement over a certain area it lets of a high pitched sound that only cats can heard. Cats really dislike it so stay away.
worked great until neighbour moved in with a cat that was deaf.
Another 1 is you get some cat biscuits shake them in 1 hand so they come to you, in the other hand you have 1 of them squirty leomon thinks you use on pancakes, when it gets close enough quick squirt in eyes. It wont be back for a wile.
^^ not something iv personally done but i have a m8 that detests cats and it seems to work for him.

Citric acid from any citrus fruit (lemon the best) they can't stand the smell but good for humands. That will work just spray lib around the car wheels and on the soft top.

Cats hate the smell of citrus fruit, esp lemon
Maybe giving the area around the car a spray with some lemon juce would do the trick? Certainly works on the settee at home, although that doesn't have to contend with the elements! Might only take a few repeat applications before moggy gets the idea though!
I don't now if it'd be ok to put it on the car...quite acidic and might damage the paint work over time?

Try dowsing it with petrol from your water sprayer then invite your mates round for a game of throw the lit match at the cat. GREAT FUN, Bloody pesky cats.

Cats used to like sitting on the roof of my old Elise. I bought one of them shower capes and it protected the roof. I left the roof off once with the cape just balanced on the windows, needless to say the cat got the message when it jumped onto the cape only to sink straight down onto the seats! It never bothered again.
