Are they any good? want to purchase a Sony CMTSPZ90DAB Micro system for my son and they seem to be coming up as the cheapest @ £138.99

So has anyone used them ? Or can lead me to a site that are selling them cheaper ?

I used them for a few things - TV and DVD that I can recall. Then I bought a freezer for my mum through them which turned out to have a few problems - they were not helpful at all really and I vowed never to use them again. Basically they said it was not their problem and I should deal with the manufacturer - hoover candy - who weren't much better.

They did say that large items have a different returns policy, so maybe they'd be better for small goods. Personally speaking I won't deal with Empire again, plenty of retailers around after all.

I went to DABS for a laptop more recently.

Good when ok, dire when things go wrong. In my experience.

As the man says - either make your order, it turns up, plug it in and Bob's your uncle

or.....

The delivery goes missing, goods are damaged, they promise it is going to turn up next day but it is out of stock and you can't get a refund etc then they will most likely be a real ball ache to deal with.

That said any internet place is the same and ateast ED have opened a number of superstores around the country so you could go and have words with someone face to face in the event of any problems.

My instore experience has been fine. Returned a TV after I had opened the box for a no fault reason and no questions asked

Good luck mate. I bought the kids a telly each for Xmas from them and after 4 different broken ones, I cancelled the order. They screwed the refund up (actually debited me again!). Kids finally got their tellies mid Feb from somewhere else.

Had used them for years up until then and spent a few grand with them without problem but as above, they are OK if the goods are delivered and work.

Used them a couple of times for Tvs and stuff. Could get through to a human (who was English ), and they phoned me to confirm the order (makes a change).

Only let down was their couriers, which at the time was Amtrak, which IMO aren't very switched on when compared to other couriers.

Last time I used them they credited me twice also (I take it that's what you meant)
