Free Sky Digital?
Hi,
The house we have moved in to does not have a TV aerial installed. This is not a big problem as we are planning to get Sky anyway.
The previous owners had Sky Plus and have left the dish - there are 2 coaxial wires coming in to the lounge.
What I am wondering is - if I connect one of the wires up to a Sky Digital (not Plus) box, will it work and what channels will I get? We're just after the freeview set of channels at the moment.
If I can get hold of a Sky Plus box, will this work at all without subscribing to Sky, even if just on the free channels?
Need access to a decent TV signal before my 37" Toshiba LCD arrives on Monday!
Cheers,
Jamie

you'll get in excess of 60 channels (mostly shte though, shopping etc) you don't need a freesat card for the majority, skyplus needs a subscription to work properly.

Cheers,
Someone brought one in to work this morning so I tried it when I got home and I can get most of the usual channels, except C4 doesn't appear for some
reason.
ITV2/3 etc. all work, but no e4, more4 etc
I think our contract with BT ends soon so will probably go for the Sky+ £26 per month basic phone/t'internet/TV package (+£10 for Sky+).
