Bizarre discovery and question?!
Quick question. This is a strange one!
I have a friend that was dating someone for about three years. It has now come to an end, and she has made an unusual discovery. Without telling her, the gentleman in question had changed his name by deed poll to give himself her last name
What could his reason be?
She has learnt over the last few years that he could be a little insane
... could there be any strange/sinister/fraudulent purpose to watch out for?!

I would just say he is mental. Surely she would have noticed post coming to her house with the name "John Smith" rather than "John Jones" if it were for fraudulaent purposes.

Hehe... ok... so he is probably just mad...
He did not really change his name completely, just added her surname to his own. And did not tell anyone. She just found the paperwork and receipt tucked away in some of his paperwork....
So using your example to illustrate.. John Smith... to John Smith Jones
Wierd and just plain creepy if you ask me...
