Digital Camera advice - upgrade neded for Sony Cybershot DSC30 ....
So its time to upgrade the digi camera looking for smallish compact with a good clear screen - current one is only 2 mill mega pix's and has only a 1 inch screen so looking at spending about £200 ....
Sony T9 which i think has just been discontnued .....
so T20 is a possibility ......
so anyone else bought anything else ??????
Cheers

I have a Sony DSC N1 which is an outstanding camera. Tough body and almost all of the back is a touch screen (3" I think). Very simple to use, great optics, great handling.
It has been replaced by the N2 which also looks very good. It is 10.2mp equivalent (not sure what that really means) but high quality. Video quality is also excellent.

Try the Photography forum below, or check out the review section of Digital Camera Reviews and News: Digital Photography Review: Forums, Glossary, FAQ Excellent site. There is also a very recent article on there about mega-pixels vs noise vs small digital sensors which blows a few marketing myths.
But for now I will say this: the digital camera market is changing every day with new re-vamped models, but technology has reached a bit of a plateau for the next couple of years. Also, for £200 you are very unlikely to be disappointed with anything currently available if all you want is a simple point-and-shoot jobbie I would go with one with an optical viewfinder though, as even the best LCD screens are hard to see in bright light.
