I`m off to London at the weekend to watch the tour de france. Staying in a hotel down Shoreditch high street. Can anyone recommend a good curry house near by. I think brick lane is near by is that meant to be good area to go for a curry.

Avoid Brick Lane.
Lahore Kebab House on Umberstone Street. Sheek kebabs and lamb chops for starters, main course of lamb karai and dal. Tandoori roti that melts in your mouth. Crowd 50:50 white/brown. Very cheap authentic food. Service can be surly though.![Lol1](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/lol1.gif)
You will not be disappointed.

Avoid Brick Lane (you've now heard it from two Asians so ignore at your peril!)
Suresh's suggestion is quite good but I would recommend New Tayaab in Whitechapel, one of the best authentic Indians full stop and not expensive. I virtually lived there when I worked close by.
Sheekh kebab, tandoori chicken and small prawns are my faves, washed down with a mango lassi.
You can take your own booze as they don't sell it.
Beware, gets very busy on Fri/Sat
ps its won loads of Time Out awards

Avoid Brick Lane, you have also heard it from a white boy from Norwich!
Last time we all went there it was overpriced, poor food and trashy, plus you are have the hawkers which make you feel like you are in benidorm. It it is not what it was.
Lahore Kebab House is recommended here too!
