Just called halifax up, someones charged £20 x 2 to my card! for credit top up. Phoned Halifax and they are investigating it. Anyone else had this kind of experience, what was the result.

Mate of mine had this happen to him, used a brand new card to top up his mobile phone and next thing he knows 2x £50 top ups on his card bill. Funny thing was the only time he had ever used the card was to top up his phone so the only people that had the details were the mobile company. Tried but never got his money back.

This is an ever increasing problem, with no real solution unfortunately. Halifax will investigate and credit your account accordingly.

Yes.

Someone got hold of my card details - easy enough. They then used it for payments by phone so they don't need PIN number. £1500 spent.

Take the obvious steps like telling your bank. Don't bother with police. Make sure you know when you last used it etc. You'll get a refund idc.

It happens far more frequently than you think.

I had that happen last year someone charged about a grand from my card, all £20 payments some place in Ireland, phoned the bank and after about 6 weeks, loads of forms and a major headache i got my money back

As of April. As an update the Credit Card Company have still not informed the Police, but my wife was reimbursed, but the Company scammed are still out of pocket.
