Hello
Does anyone have any recommendations for investing £40K over 6 - 12 months to get the best return? Preferably nothing too risky (or buying 40,000 lottery tickets!).
Thanks,
Steve

Steve,
have a look at moneysupermarket.
Looks like about 6.0% - 6.5% AER for a savings account or bond is the going rate

If you are prepared to tie it up for 12 months, you won't get a better guaranteed return than NS & I index linked savings. The interest is tax free, which means it's equivalent to 9.41% if you're a higher rate tax payer. You can put in up to 30k in your own name, and as much in the name of each of your children
