Hi all,
Ive got a baupunkt radio in my car, woodstock, which has DAB. TRying to use the DAB function but havent a clue how the whole DAB works.
Is it like the normal radio freq? do I just searching along looking for a station ?? Or are there different bands, 12c 13d 14f or what ever, and stations are in there ??
Christ knows how it works, but I thought that, unlike local radio that if I go out the area I loose it, that DAB if I like a station I can listen to it all through the country ??
Be cool if someone can give me the in's / outs of DAB radio.
Out of interest, if anyone is thinking of buying a blaupunkt woodstock, dont, its crap, doesnt have any pre-amp outs, its slow to react and sounds ****e.

we have a DAB aerial and whole-house DAB + FM signal distribution at home. We use DAB in two bedrooms at the moment. Not entirely sure how it works, try here - Digital Broadcast - bringing the future to you but you switch on; radio does a quick search (bit like your pc checking drives when booting up) and then you scroll through the stations and select whatever you want to listen to
You may need a different aerial in your car - not sure, but worth checking.
HTH!

With the DAB radio in my car the digital stations come packaged together, so once I find one (searching horizontally if you see what I mean) I just have to nudge the button (vertically) to find the others e.g. all the BBC stations come together.

yep, the JVC system in my car is the same as XRS, find one, skip up a channel and the next is there.
Only thing I've not figured out on mine is how to keep the one channel tuned in right across the country (cough ahem Classic Gold cough cough)
