I was looking at something similar and there seemed to be a fair few 4 doors, quite high mileage though as they were pre Evo I think (?) but quite cheap though.

I said understeery as I drove a convertible M3 around Pembrey about 8 years ago - TOTALLY understeery. Had to use the handbrake for effect for the camera![Big Grin](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
I did have to put decent brakes and wheel bearings on my Sti V @ 40k so agree with those as weak points (kept the cracked disk for show
).
Thanks for the tips - will research pre 'Evo' M3's. What does the Evo moniker actually signify?
Also (dare I mention it) a Mitsubishi Evo? Bit less common than my much adored Scoob too.
Thx

I got behind an M3 a couple of days ago, and it looked a very nimble car. The bloke driving it was a complete tool, on A road overtakes he would get right up the chuff of the car in front, pull out in some kind of 'days of thunder' type slingshot manouvre, then pull back in with the same kind of vigour. I wouldn't have minded but there was nothing coming the other way
. I just followed him through at a distance in a diesel vectra
. He was all show, no real go....like I say, it looked like a very agile car, if not spoiled by the fartknocker at the wheel.

It was a fast car Chip, and very nice to drive. I had the Evolution and the Vanos was newly replaced. The early ones had wear troubles which was fixed by using hardened running internals. Very little roll on corners-excellent acceleration, and a very civilised car when Mrs Leslie was sitting in it![Smile](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/smile.gif)

I was thumbing through my old copies of evo last night - checking out their target 8 minute M3 GT. Stripped out, full welded roll cage, suspension, exhaust, wheels, tyres, ram air kit worked out around £16K in the end!
Looked great and sounds like it really handled well - I think it was 0.1 seconds slower than a 996 turbo round bedford!

This BMW : DAKAR YELLOW EVOLUTION COUPE. looks quite affordable for school runs and a few track days a year? Sorry if I'm on wrong forum! Would this fella be Nikasil inflicted?
Why are the E30's such heavy money?
