another well it was gonna happen eventually thread...
yep. taken two years and 5 months, but ive finally been broken into. was the garden shed, but i still feel extremely violated.
little ***** just walked down my garden (back faces onto a main road) and helped themselves into my shed with maximum force. my neighbour was woken by the din they made, and as soon as they saw this, they skidaddled.
i dont think theyve managed to get away with anything, although there was a couple garden tools lying on the grass when i got there. mainly gardening stuff like a lawnmower, strimmer etc, but there was also a pair of leather calibra seats and a saxo bodykit in there, untouched. maybe the new era of theiving ***** like gardening??
so suitably pissed off, have rung the police and have my crime number. glad i finished work early this morning
the main thing is they havent tried to gain entry into the house, and if they did, at least my fiance wasnt home alone
as this sint an isolated incident (a few very recent cases of this round here) and i have footprints from the ***** in my soil, i think the fuzz may come and take piccies and a statement from my next door neighbour.
i just wonder if my house insurance covers getting my shed repaired/replaced.
any similar experiences and the outcomes. feel pretty **** at the moment.

Sorry to hear that, at least they won't be back in a hurry
Always look at things like they could of been alot worse - helps me. Do you have a "**** lamp"? If not go and grab one of them, they seem to be a good deterrent.

Sorry to hear that. I did think that given your work troubles, you'd been ditched when I first read the thread title.
Quite a few home insurance policies do cover a shed break-in these days but give them a ring. Have you thought about putting an alarm onto it - they might insist on it as preventative measures but big to the neighbour.

just been out after i got outa bed, and they have had a couple things away...
a pushbike (which for insurance purposes had just teebled in value - jkin)
couple garden tools like spades etc.
main damage is to the shed. im gonna ring up the insurance for buildings and contnents and see if they wanna come out and whether im covered or not.
have a crime number and waiting for the scenes of crime officer to call me.
just wanna get my shed back up and running, and will sort out spot light (probably the one round the front of the house) round the back...

been out and bought myself another security light for the back of the house, and two new locks for the shed. borded it up with about 100 screws and filled it full of junk, while putting the valuables like the lawn mower etc in the house in place of said junk.
hopefully get time to install the light tomorrow afternoon.
just feel edgy leaving the mrs at home tonight (like i do every night) when i go to work.
seriously considering some sort of woreless home alarm system too after xmas.
