Hello,
I needed to transfer £5000 from my moms current account to mine, however she doesnt have online banking and i didnt wanna mess about trying to get to town to pay a cheque in etc. So i thought I would pay the money as an "internet payment" onto my credit card (putting it in credit by just under 5000), and then do a balance transfer to my current account.
However, after I had charged the card, i found they have changed their site and you can no longer do balance transfers to bank accounts - only to pay bills or consolidate other cards.
Is there gonna be some problem with that "credit" sitting on the account for a few weeks, or do i need to write a cheque to my account (grr).
We will be paying the house deposit in the next few weeks so I can write one cheque from the credit card then (more than £5000). Just wondering if there is some problem with a credit card account being in credit.

That second screen looks like it will do the job. Just put your mum's details in for "Name of Company", Name on Account, Sort Code and Account Number. For Billing Reference put in something like "From SiDHEaD".
The "Billing Reference" would normally be your customer number if you were paying a utility bill so that the recipient can allocate the payment to your invoice.
The HBOS online banking is similar in that there is a "Pay Bills" option, but I've used it to transfer money to savings accounts with other banks.
(Re-read your original post. Misread it (D'oh!). It'll be your own account details that you need to put in. No problem about a card account being in credit. )
