Ok dokey where do I start?
OK right, due to mucho pressure from friends (Shona being one of the main ones ) I recently visited the quacks due to my disappearing voice, I thought it was a severe dose of Laryngitis or summit, but it appears not to be the case I had to go for a camera to be shoved up my hooter and doon ma throat kinda thing today (Christ it wasn't funny, nearly puked over the Quack) Turns out I have a dodgy wee jobbie thing growing in ma throat near my voice box making me sound like silent fart when ever I felt the need to talk
So now I need to go back to the quack for an op, not a cut you open op but I need to be sedated to remove the jobbie in question, they then need to send the jobbie away to find out if it is benine or malignant (bet that'll take about 44 weeks to get a result) I have to admit I'm ****tin bricks, at the moment not due to the fact I might have throat cancer, more the fact I need to be sedated (I hate needles)
Anyhoo I was told today I'll probably get an appointment to get the jobbie removed within a fortnight (I'm totally surprised how quickly the NHS and Quacks have responded to this, respect to them) and I'll let you all know how things go.
I really wanna go to the Football on Saturday but another part of me just wants to shut the rest of the world out, don't ask why, that's just me lol, I would like to see ma pals though, they always make me smile![Smile](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/smile.gif)
Anyhoo I've rattled enough **** for one night, I need my bed although I know I'm no gonna sleep and my last words on my wee thread tonight are, If you happen to be a smoker STOP NOW! you really don't want to go through the kinda **** I am at the moment, REALLY, HONESTLY YOU DON'T!!!
Night night, love you all
Tam
PS I'm in no way looking for sympathy here as I know it's self inflicted, just wanna hear from those with similar ****?
PPS I'm also fissed as a part tonight due to todays goings ons
TIA Tam

Good Luck Tam
When I first started reading it reminded me of my Dad, he 'lost' his voice a few times, and the Docs said it was stress induced, so I thought that it may have been some stress related thing here
My Dad has quit smoking after 40 odd years, and has been quit for almost 2 years now
Hope everything goes ok, and the results are what you want
Go to the Match !!!! Enjoy Yourself

Good luck Tam, sounds like a nightmare. Don't forget, needles are just small thin things that dont hurt for long. ![Smile](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/smile.gif)
I stopped smoking over 6 months back, when my son was born - best thing I have EVER done (except for producing my son). The weight gain is a pain, but I can shift that soon.
Hope it goes well, better to get it sorted quickly than have to wait around.

Think positive Tam. I had a similar growth (being a lady I shall not say where) several years ago,and was worried too. Turned out to be a polyps, a sort of benign wart type thingy. Please don't get all wound up about it. I'm sure you'll be fine.

Thanx guys I really appreciate all your comments
I went to the speedway tonight with one of my pals and going to the football tomorrow, I'm putting it to the back of my mind till I get the letter for my op (I'm dreading that) I'm thinking positive, but sometimes I think negative (human nature I suppose) ![Frown](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/frown.gif)
Thanx again for all the support

I sincerely hope everything is ok Tam. Don`t worry about been sedated as Snug says. All you`ll feel is a sharp scratch, honest. I have had a few ops, a few under local. But general is by far the best imo.
At times like these you can go into a cocoon, and hide away from the rest of the world. I know from experience believe me. Share your worries & fears with your nearest & dearest. They will understand your anxiety & also help you through it. Don`t bottle your feelings up, its human nature to release them.
Take Care,
We Are All Thinking Of You

Tam I had a simular problem but mine was on the brain
I fully understand how you feel mate cos I was the same too, It's the not knowing, mine turned out to be a tumour (non milagnite) I might add but I still had to have major brain surgery for it to be removed, I found that having a good sense of humour through it all helped and of course my darling wife next to me, for me it was a double wammy as I was still getting over a very serious RTA where a drunk driver hit me head on at over 100 MPH
I think the worse bit for me was after the operation when I had 2 tampax type things up my nose to stem the bleeding, and the headaches which I was told about before the op, It was like drinking a case of Stella and a bottle of vodka all at once, if you need to ask any questions mate PM me if you wish, good luck with it![Thumb](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/thumb.gif)
Cheers
Colin

Not yet I'll let you know when the appointment letter arrives.
Scoob99, that must have been horrendous
Glad to hear it all ended well though
Luckily for me I'll only be in for 1 day and they don't need to be cut, they do it all down my throat, I imagine I'll have a really sore throat afterwards.
Thanx again for all the advice and support folks, it's appreciated

Well I got my date for the Jobbie to be removed through this morning, it's gonna be on Friday 5th of October. ![](http://www.tropicalfish.site5.com/ubb/smilies/cwm31.gif)
Have to admit I've not stopped smoking completely YET! Although I've cut down dramatically and the cigs I do light up I don't really smoke properly, I just kinda light them out of habit and take the odd draw![Smile](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/smile.gif)
My best bud bought me a prezzy today, A substitute for cigs lol, She thinks I might end up like ten tonne Tam though
Here is a pic of the afore mentioned prezzy..... YUM!

Yep that's 15 boxes of Jammie Dodgers (my fav) 120 Jammies to be precise
Luckily she works next to the factory where they are made, a bargain for a fiver, guess where my ciggy money will go when I finally stop??
