If its the best deal and they don't try to change the t&c's, take it. The worst that will happen is they will go into recievership, the mortgage will be sold on and you should be on the same rate with a new company but IMHO if it was going to happen, it would have by now.

remember, you will owe them money so there isn't any thing to lose from your side.

I suppose it would be different if I had my entire life savings with them.......Saying that £10.90 won't send them under!

I wouldn't worry - they won't let NR go bust.

How can they keep loan rates competitive if they are paying a premium on money they borrow from BoE?

I've just taken a small loan with them for the wifes car and they gave the best rate.

Just guessing but that would be an unsecured loan (?) with a rate way over what you would expect to get for a mortgage. dl

their unsecured rates are also good.....and they havent taken a penny from the BOE so why would it impact their business at this point?

I thought that they has used 4 billion from the BoE facility? If I have this wrong then I agree that they can still be competitive although they may well be a little more cautious.
