Superleggera is too metrosexual in my opinion.

The GT is a nice choice though.

Both look quite nice. I'm more a Breitling man myself.

Had been promising myself one for years. Bought a "Breitling Navitimer world" just under 2 weeks ago now. Black face with Black leather strap.

Very very nice watch.

If I was rich, I'd spend a stupid amount of money on different watches.

Oh, I'll go and get a couple then!

Sorry, but I just think that any watch like that just screams out "Look at me I'm like David Beckham". Really tacky.

The Chopard one is lovely, the Chanel looks cheap. It doesnt have the class of the Chopard imho.

Didnt you read my first post?? I wanted to buy a watch but dont want it to look pretentious!! Unless you know what the watch is then you probably wont be able to distinguish it from a 20 quid casio/swatch......its hardly bling is it (the Chopard)??

I just think that spending that much on a watch is pretentious in itself.

I don't understand the need for it myself, fair enough if that's what floats your boat, but I find it a bit obscene.

Ill probably go for the Chopard and you can get that for a little over £1400 with the exchange rate from the US.

How many watches do you buy in your life time?

As for pretentious....dont people have to see you being pretentious to be pretentious?? I only wear nice things when I go out and when I go out I do so with friends that have known me a long time.

Christ if you saw me you would see Im not pretentious....sat at my pc with a cup of tea in my boxers!!

Tell people it cost £50 from Argos in the unlikely event they are interested. That way you can be assured that you aren't being pretentious.

On the rare occasions people have asked me about mine I just tell them it's a cheap fake.

I don't believe he did. I think the Chanel is a bit fruity as I already stated.

What if you swapped the straps so the chanel one had the car tread?

Can't believe sexuality has moved into watches

I've only purchased one watch in the last 2 years and that was my 2005 Rolex Explorer II, Black face. Its only because i spent a lot of time around them that i decided to pick one up. I could sell it tomorrow and get £100 more than i paid 2 years ago, and i paid almost full whack.

I just dont wear watches, nice to have for a special occasion though

Everyone who knows I wear a £3k watch, all say I'm mad. Yet if I'd bought a car for £3k they'd say good deal.

A bloke in the office (mid 40's) wears a £20 Black plastic Casio. Says it all really.

Why don't we all drive around in £6000 Kia's? Because we choose to spend more money on the car we want. Just like watches.

I had no idea you'd asked the question.

I think some of them are great bits of kit.

Are you only interested in those 2 watches Falkster?

If no, then theres a great selection of watches to be had. Whats your budget if you don't mind me asking, or more importantly what do you want from the watch?

Brietling have some nice peices

Mine are all 150 -200 metres watches (SKX007/009 derivatives and their predecessors), rather than the Professional 6159-7019-type pieces. It's hard knowing where to stop though.

Regards.

Based of 'improved' ETA blanks too, like so many other premium watch brands. I prefer older pre-1982 Omegas with proper Omega calibres.....
