VBH thinks she's a racing driver. Somebody should have a word.

She was 4 second a lap quicker than the copper, she must be reasonably quick.

Having watched her "race" at Brands, I'm gonna have to agree with you.

Beating a copper by 4 seconds a lap isn't hard. Their trained to look for kids/on coming cars/ old dears crossing/ VBH driving like a tit etc. Not how to risk everything to get there first.

Although, IIRC, she didn't get there first either at Brands amongst racing drivers

Didn’t think much of the so called advanced police driver either!! One clip clearly shows him overtaking and then cutting back over the diagonal lines. That’s a big no no !

I didn't watch it....but can I hazard a guess that she yanked on the handbrake mid-turn?

Didn't see it, however diagonal lines are fair game.. As are solid whites if the need arises.. Take it you are not advanced trained ?

Police driving is all about "safe progress" isn't it?

I did advanced and defensive road training (with an ex-police rider) on my motorbike and, as you say, solid lines and diagonal lines are fair game if the need arises....AND....it is safe. (not good on a bike, but in a car, different story)

I think if you were trying to follow a police driver, you'd be surprised just how well they "crack on" in traffic.

As for VBH being a racing driver.........I think she's a pretty good driver that has done some racing. Tiff Needell she isn't, but I reckon she'd thrash most of the keyboard racing drivers that pop up now and again!

She could drive my car if she fancies being my "other half"

Can't stand the shopw, can't stand the woman, would give it one though and she is probably about 100 times more accomplished as a driver, racing or otherwise, than anyone that posts on here.

Track driving and fast, safe road driving are two different disciplines requiring different techniques.

Watched it for a minute got annoyed with VBH and turned over and watched Eastenders. Clearly an indicator of how good I thought it was

Since when have solid white lines been fair game?

When I did my advanced & EFAD courses you can only cross them to overtake bicycles, tractors etc

When she set off in that Holden VXR8 she looked as controlled and composed as a cripple on stirrups break-dancing, which for her ain't as bad as she normally looks. I wish they'd wake up and realise she should be testing girlie hunchbacks and shopping cars, then they could sack the student who was on Hardknott with is uncles. Tiff in the M3 however was awesome

I used to live near Hardknott. The first time I took my then future wife up in my Puma, her face was a picture! It was a quiet autumn day so a good clear, fast run!

And its a doddle. If they are still like the monaro - it must be the most friendly-tail-happy cars I've ever driven. Lots of wheelspin, lots of smoke and lots of snaking with extremely little effort. But on the same level, very easy to maintain rear-end grip if one wants to.

Not that I would know

Next time I speak to Jason - I'll ask his opinion of her She's a fair driver and would, I suspect, run rings around many on this board!

A mate of mine flew to the 1000 lakes rally with the Ford team a few years back. She was on the same plane but wouldn't talk to anyone. Right grumpy old moo by all accounts.

Anyway, she may be a handy driver, but she's a TV presenter and not a racing driver.

She did plenty of karting when she was younger and as others have said, she'd beat the majority of posters on here. Shame it can't happen as it would be amusing to listen to the list of excuses.

What I can't fathom, is why the police insist on shuffling the steering wheel which has to be the slowest way to correct a slide. Dread to think what they'd be like trying to control a good dose of oversteer.

I'd be very much up for the challenge, maybe I'm better than alot of the poster here too

Don't start me on wheel shufflers, cars aren't buses

Because "Push-Pull" is the best way to steer a car during normal conditions. When things start to get interesting, rotational steering is better and this is what the police drivers are taught.
